Testing Process
- 90-Minute Discharge Test: Simulate power failure and ensure battery sustains minimum required illumination.
- Visual Inspection: Confirm signs are unobstructed, properly mounted, and LEDs are functional.
- Functional Test: Switch on/off controls and sensor activation.
- Logbook Update: Entry of date, technician details, test outcome, and next test date.
- Remedial Works (Optional): Replace failed batteries or luminaires on the spot.
Recommended Schedule
- Every 6 months for all commercial premises
- Optional quarterly inspection for high-traffic buildings or aged care
